As a
Psychotherapist/Counsellor Jan Campbell-Thompson provides
individuals, businesses and organizations with a unique
perspective on Relating and Relationships. While working to
unearth traumas and issues impacting individuals and their
ability to participate in life, Jan gently but firmly, 'holds'
and contains them during their process of 'unravelling.'
In addition to
traditional psychotherapeutic methods, Jan uses a variety of
techniques including visualisation, breath work and analytic
therapy to assist individuals uncover, work through and
understand their own personal myths and stories. Jan also works
somatically - "Soma" from the Greek meaning "the living body."
Somatic psychotherapy recognizes that any system of personal
change needs to be based upon an understanding of the
integration of both mind and body.

Q: What can be done to reconcile a feeling of
vulnerability with pent up aggression that tends to be vented at
potentially inopportune moments?
A: I would not try to immediately 'force' a
reconciliation between these apparently opposing emotions,
rather I would suggest initially viewing them in tandem and if
possible dispassionately - through meditation and/or journalling.
How does one emotion complement the other, if one emotion is
felt, is there an immediate reactive response from the other?
